Happy Valentine day everyone!! Yes, I say happy valentine day. For Korea, every 14th of each month is a valentine day! OK, it isn’t really the valentine day but it is like a checkpoint day of each month for couples to do activities together to enhance their relationship and its a day for single people to drink, party and spend time with those activities that do not need a couple to do together.
14th January
“Diary Day” It is the first valentine day of the year. Couples will exchange their plain diary or daily planner to plan their schedule together and record their lover’s favorite things, birthday and their personal information.
14th February
“Valentine Day” No need to explain much about this day because every country also has this day. In this Valentine, Day girls will use it to confess their feeling to boys they like by giving them a chocolate. For Korea, people prefer to give chocolates than flowers.
14th March
“White Day” For this day, it is a day boys give the answer to the girls who confess to them and they want to start a relationship with that girl. Boys will also give a girl a chocolate. They may have a date together to celebrate their relationship.
14th April
“Black Day” THIS IS THE DAY I LIKE THE MOST!! Why? Because this day is for a single person like me!!!!! During this day, single people (like me) will wear a black dress and eat “Jajangmyeon” or a noodle with black sauce to declare themselves that they are single. It will be easy for boys to check whether girl they like is in a relationship or single. Maybe you may have a couple after this black day because your Jajangmyeon-eating steps, who knows. 😛
14th May
“Rose Day” and “Yellow Day” For today, if you are in a relationship it is a rose day for you. but for a single lady like me, it is a yellow day. For a rose day, Couples will give flowers to their loved. And for the yellow day, a single people will wear the yellow shirt and eat curry.
14th June
“Kiss Day” Kiss!! That’s it!!
14th July
“Silver Day” For this day, couples will buy their couple ring together. the silver ring is the sign of long love. That’s mean they will love each other for a long time.
14th August
“Green Day” For today, couples will hang out together in a natural place such as a garden or forest. But single people will drink Soju, which the color of soju’s bottle is green, during this day.
14th September
“Photo Day” and “Music Day” There are two activities for couples to do in this day. First they will take a photo together and exchange their favorite songs to each other. Some of them even sing a song for their lover.
14th October
“Wine Day” Yeahhh, It is a day couple celebrate their relationship by drinking red wine together.
14th November
“Movie Day” Couple will watch a movie together in this day. Accidental today my mom and I have seen a movie together today. You see? We can be happy with or without boyfriend during each valentine day!! 🙂
14th December
“Hug Day” Here come the last valentine day for Korean people, It’s a hug day!! Due to a cold winter during December, warm hug from lover is the best way to warm your body. Let’s HUG!!
Good evening everyone!! For today dinner have you decide what to eat yet? If not I will recommend one Korean restaurant for you, enjoy!!
Last week my friends and I went to have some Korean food in Futurepark Rangsit. After deciding where to eat, we end up with a Korean restaurant Yoogane.
This restaurant is a franchise from Korea, and I have a chance to try it once when I was in Korea. We ordered special Tak-galbi adding ramyeon and cheese, We also ordered Tteokbokki as an appetizer. Tak-galbi is a mix fried rice and chicken with a special sauce from Korea. The chef is a well-trained cook. They were trained in Korea. My favorite dish is Tteokbokki, it is a hot and spicy rice cake.
While waiting for Tak-galbi to come, there is a side dishes corner for customers. The good thing is .. it is a buffet!! a BUFFET sidedishes, yehhhhhh
However, because I don’t like vegetables that much, I eat only Kimchi. While one of my friends Pangpond enjoys his buffet especially the salad, he ate 4 plates of salad!!
Pangpond will be a good presenter of SALAD!!
Then my favorite dish came!! Tteokbokki!!!!!!!!! We ate it very fast. While I took a picture, my friends ate it like a hurricane. Moral of the story, Don’t take pictures while your friends are hungry.
Bam and I with TTEOKBOKI!!
After waiting for a while, here come the main dish!!! Tak-galbi yehhhhh. Normally staff will serve the plain Tak-galbi then they will cook in front of us, but I think because the size is too big, staff served the well-cooked for us.
The first thought that came into my mind at that time is how could us finish it all? It is toooooooooo big!!!! In my opinion, ramyeon is more delicious than fried rice.
Cartoon and her talented. Mix the food!!!!
Then it’s time to eat!!!!
As I said, don’t take any picture while your friends are hungry, you might miss your food LOL
In the end, we could finish the whole pan yeahhhh.
The cost of this meal is around 900 baht, or 150 baht individually. So I think it is not too expensive for me. If you have a chance, Try it out!!!
And this is all of my updates today, please make sure you eat well and see you in the next entry!!
Happy Halloween day everyone!! To stay up with the trend, today I provide a legend about Korean ghosts for you. Be prepare and enjoy!!
To create an emotional while reading the article, here is a song for you 🙂
This song is called “Lie” sang by T-ara, it might not sound that scary, but it is the ballad version OST song of “Soul”, a Korean horror film.
Let’s start the story 🙂
Korean people called ghosts as gwisin (귀신). They believe that after the death, they will turn into a gwisin stay around the place they used to lived or want to stay for 49 days, Then the cho seung saga (저승사자) or the grim will send them whether to heaven or hell depends on their behavior. Korean grim have a white face, wearing a black dress and Korean traditional hat.
Boo!!
Most of Korean ghost will be a form of women wearing white Hanbok (Korean traditional dress) without legs. Their mouth has a little bleeding. They usually died because they were left alone before a marry ceremony.
fear me!! I am scaryyyyyy
Dalkyal gwisin (달걀 귀신) or Egghead ghost is another type of Korean ghost. Their head is big with no face neither eyes, nose nor lip. Dalkyal gwisin do not speak (If they speak, how could they?). They can be found around a mountain or a small road with a few people passing by. During the past, Korean is an agriculture country, their restroom was separate from the house. Dalkyal gwisin usually walk around the way from the house to the restroom. Luckily Dalkyal gwisin does not harm anyone who seen them, however, people who accidently talk to them will be sick and die after several days.
Moreover, there is another type of ghost which I don’t think it is a ghost, but it is a giant instead. dokkaebi (도깨비). Dokkaebi can be good and bad, but people in the past said that dokkaebi is too scary that they could not even draw a portrait of them. so people after their generation could not able to know the appearance of dokkaebi. However, after Japan had colonized Korea, Korean people have heard a story of Japan’s giant called “Oni”. They think that the story of Oni is similar to dokkaebi, so they assume that their appearance should be similar to each other.
Trust me I’m a dokkaebi!!
Is Korean traditional ghost different from your country? Is it scare you? Is my article scary enough? If not, here come a higher level of ghost story which will vivid your Halloween day!!
The link I post above is Korean comic about ghost which it has been spread so viral, it is an English version, enjoy!! 🙂
By the way, regarding the song I post at the beginning of the post, this is the original version. The dance step is so cute ><. I really like both versions 🙂

주석 (Chuseok) or Thanksgiving day is the biggest and most important holidays in Korea. There is three days holiday for Korean people to go back home and spend times with family.Family members from each house will gather together in order to share their food and spend their time together. Chuseok occurs in the brightest moon night which is that 15th day of the eighth months on the lunar calendar, which is around September and October on the Solar calendar.
In the past, the harvest season for Korean people ended around the eighth month on Lunar calendar. So Korean people gathered together, bringing their goods to celebrate and respected the god of harvesting, praying for a fertilized in the next year. Some families will respect their ancestors in this festival.
The food which is the symbol of Chuseok festival is the sweet rice cake. It was a moon shape, but recently it became a sphere shape. In the past there is a believed that women who can make the moon shape sweet rice cake beautifully will marry to a good man; however, the truth is they created such a believe to made those girls made a beautiful moon shape of sweet rice cake.
This is the sweet rice cake in the past. This is the sweet rice cake nowadays.
So what do Korean people do in Chuseok day? In the morning family members will gather together, preparing their food to respect their ancestors. This activity can be called as 자례 (Charae) which Korean people will do this activity two times in a year include Chuseok day and Seollal day (Korean new year). After finishing their celebration, they will have a lunch together and play Korean traditional cards called 화투 So what do Korean people do in Chuseok day? If you are interested in this kind of dance and want to see the example, here is an example for you 🙂
Before continue with my experiences in Korea, I would like to say “Happy Birthday to Kim Jongdae!!”
This year he is 23 years old (24 Korea years old). Kim Jongdae is a member in a famous idol group Exo. His stage name is “Chen”; therefore, he has to promote his song in China with half of Exo members Xiumin, Luhan, Kris, Lay and Tao and called that unit as Exo-m which the letter m came from “Mandarin”.
Chen is on the bottom left-hand side of the picture
Chen is one of two members who had been trained in the shortest time compared with others. However, his voice is so amazing and that make him the main vocal in Exo-m.
Chen has a dream job as a musical actor, and right naw he can achive his goal!! He played as “Bennie” in Korea musical ” In The Height” and at the first show, some of Exo member showed up to watched his played.
Anyeounghasaeyo!! Halooooo. Today my post will not be about any recommend music video nor movie, but I will share my first experience in Korea!!! Whoooohooooo.
The first time I went to Korea is in 2010, when I was in grade ninth. My mom decided to brought my sister and I to Korea in order to spend some holiday together. I was very excited and scared because I have a phobia in transportation especially if I have to travel by airplane, I always think about accident and some bad stuff, However, I arrived safe!!
Time in Korea is two hours faster than Thailand. I went there during Fall, so it quite cold but not too much. The first place I went was Nami Island. All of the leaves turning red, it was very beautiful!!
From the picture I am the one on the right. The left one is my older sister, she’s three years older than me hehehe.
On the same day, we also went to a palace which the punishment material was established there.
On the next day we went to a seaweed factory and kimchi center. At the Kimchi center, we had a chance to wore a Korea national costume called “Hanbok” The guide told that a single lady will wear a hanbok which have a colorful on the arms part.
I am single!! LOL
After Kimchi village, it’s time to moved to Seoul!! We arrived at Seoul quite evening so the plan that night is just Namsan tower and a shopping street. In Namsan tower, there is a teddy bear museum, it is very cute, if you have a chance you should not miss!!!!
After a long shopping time, we went to hotel to took some rest and prepared ourselves for the next day
The funny story about this trip is we have to move to Seoul and stay there for one night. Our guide name Charlie brought us to the hotel we have to stay but unfortunately the hotel had some problem in which we could not book a room there, so Charlie bought us to stay in a motel near that hotel. It is the motel where several couples spend their hot night together .. you know what I mean right .. The room is full of mirror even on the ceiling!!! There are more than two mirror in the bath room .. The big mirror everywhere in our room. However, That time I was too young to know about this kind of motel, so I just confused why there were so many mirror in the room. It quite frightening isn’t it?
Here come our last day in Korea 😦 The first place we went is Keoung-bok Palace. It is the main palace where a big ceremony is taking place here. In this palace, there are a molded figure of 12 animals which are the animal of 12 years. I was born in a year of pig, so I took a picture with it yeyyy.
Hello Mr.Pig!! Nice to meet you 🙂
The next place was Chongaechong pond. It is a man-made pond near a palace.
The last place was also near these two places, it is Gwanghamoon road. It has statues of the important people in Korea. One of them is the person who made a Korea alphabet.
Then it’s time to went back to Thailand 😦 It was a short trip, but I was very happy!! Before the end of today’s post, I would like to post my most favorite picture of my mom during a trip!!
